Exercises That Make You Grow Taller: Does It Actually Work?

Would you like to grow a few inches taller naturally? Unless you're 6' 6", anyone would certainly love to get a few inches to their height. Then it is time to involve yourself in some exercises to grow taller. These workouts are not some mystical yoga magic but exercises based on sound logical and scientific techniques.

Do workouts to grow taller really work?

Yes they do! Astonishing, questionable, and borderline ludicrous to think that somebody past teenage years can grow taller.

1) Stretching

Stretching is one of the most fundamental exercises to grow taller. This method may seem like common sense and it is. Not only does stretching alleviate stiff joints and tight muscles, it will help you improve your physical performance, posture and help you grow taller. Stretches consist of: bow down stretching, stretching while standing, wall-assisted stretches, toe touches, standing twists, car stretch, cobra stretch, the bridge, the table, super stretch, and more.

2) Hanging

Hanging will help you grow taller by stretching out your spinal column and joints. When you wake up in the early morning, you are always a little taller compared to late in the afternoon because your spine has actually been lengthened while asleep. As you function throughout the day, gravitational force compresses it back down. Hanging will help maintain the extended state of the spinal column to ensure that it compresses less as the day passes.

There are two main methods to go about hanging. The simplest and most convenient method is to use a chin up bar and dead hang from it. Preferably, you'd want to do 10 ~ 15 sets of 15 ~ 20 seconds each for a minimum of 30 mins a week. Twisting from side to side and side leg raises will also help, but avoid swinging your body.

The 2nd method is to buy an inversion table, strap your legs down, and hang upside down. This is more effective than the chin up bar but will be much more inconvenient.

3) Yoga

Because it helps with pose and will make you stand up straighter, yoga is an outstanding way to instantly increase height. The stretches and poses inherent in yoga are likewise a few of the key techniques to growing taller. Several of the more important ones are: mountain poses, downward facing dog, simple supported back-bends, and simple reclining twists.

According to yoga teachers, if you do yoga 2 to 3 times a week for a year, you will increase as much as an inch in height.

4) Swimming and other sports

However it is also true that playing specific sports from when you are young will help you grow taller than if you did not play sports. Out of all the sports, swimming is one of the best to become taller. This is since water negates the gravitational compression of the spinal column and also because having your head below your heart sends better blood circulation to the thyroid glands which aids in the manufacturing of growth hormones. Especially, the breast stroke motion stretches the body in an ideal manner to gain height. This is since you kick with your legs and stretch out with your arms at the same time in opposite directions.
